A solid networking background is an asset, and knowledge of wireless networking (MikroTik) and satellite communication systems (iDirect) is welcome.

Requirements:
General understanding of TCP/IP communications and configuration, Wireless networks, propagation and other telecommunications technologies
Able to interpret various electronic schematics and spec sheets and build to specification.
Demonstrated professional oral and written communications skills
Good mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of the use of hand tools, power tools and complicated specialty tools.
Flexible and adaptable. Demonstrate the capability to be able to multi-task and accommodate a variety of assignments at various locations on a day-to-day basis.

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Support Technician that will be responsible for providing technical support services to Virgin Technologies' customers in the use of all Virgin Technologies supported satellite, telecommunications and network technologies, including troubleshooting, upgrades, testing, implementation, problem diagnosis and resolution, or reassigning to appropriate Technical Services staff in compliance with Virgin Technologies' practices, policies, and procedures. Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Capable of working under pressure/using own initiative with minimal supervision
Ability to work shifts (10 & 12 hours)
Experience with oilfield drilling and completion an asset
Experience with

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to contribute to the critical day-to-day field operations of Virgin Technologies and support customers. EXTENSIVE TRAVEL REQUIRED.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Travel to remote oilfield and construction locations to install satellite communication equipment.
Install electrical and electronic assemblies and associated cabling.
Install computer network equipment and cabling.
Troubleshoot network issues on customer computers.
Shop work including, but not limited to: satellite antenna assembly, modem
programming, VoIP phone programming, inventory, racking, cleanup, etc.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Previous telecommunications or satellite experience an asset
Excellent computer skills and understanding of basic computer networking
Able to operate hand and power tools
Ability to climb and work safely at heights up to 30 feet (training provided)
Must be in excellent physical condition and able to lift up to 100 lbs
Able to work in adverse weather conditions
Clean driving record (must provide a copy of Driver’s Abstract)
